Tollywood 2010: Family-wise Performance Analysis

The ALLUs

As we mentioned regarding the Daggubati Family that passion for cinema is prime motto rather than the lust for money, it is quite opposite in this case. Cinema, Politics, Party Ticket Sale Controversy, Deputy CM lobbying.. they have been everywhere in the wrong news that they can be in. But they all have been able to successfully score a flop this year. Ram Chran with his latest flopORANGE, Allu Arjun with his Varudu and Pawan Kalyan with his ever-green flop Komaram Puli. The lesser we talk about them, the better. As if the existing ones are not enough, Allu Sirish came into league with his low class behave on twitter.

THE EVVs

Though the EVVs are not expected here in this comparision, we are including them not for the case of EVV Satyanarayana or Aryan Rajesh. Its is only for the sake Allari Naresh, who, after proving his act-worthiness in Gamyam has never looked back and is on a continuous run. He had infact 6 movies released this year and 2 are ready for release this month end. They include Shambo Shiva Shambo, Rambabu Gadi Pellam, Aakasa Ramanna, Betting Bangaraju, Shubhapradham, Saradaga kasepu, Kathhi Kantha Rao, Ahana Pellanta. And to mention, EVV's effort to sustain Aryan Rajesh in the industry with Buridi with more than 40 comedians failed and the movie was a super duper flop.

And to note, we have not considered in the analysis some actors like Sushanth, Tarak Ratna, Sumanth etc who are not even worthy of being a hero and surviving just by family name. And the remaining big name is that of Mahesh Babu. He too performed decently with Khaleja, he is not included in this analysis as he is not a part of any active cine family anymore since Krishna has disappeared from the spot light these days.

Da Da.. Nandamuri

A decent year for the Nandamuris. Bala Krishna scored big with Simha. Though Adurs was a fake-claimed hit for Jr NTR, Brindavanam was able to save his grace. Kalyan Ram too fared well with his Kathi.

the Manchus..

The only saving grace in this family this year has been Manchu Manoj who gave a good entertainer with Bindaas in the beginning of 2010 and a good performance in Vedam. Though his Jhummandi Nadam failed at the box office, it was a musical treat and a visual treat too with Tapsee in it.ManchuVishnu Babu still has not recovered from the effect of his Saleem in 2009 which can be termed as one of the biggest disaster in Tollywood. Manchu Lakshmi, as usual, with her overaction, is posing as a celebrity on Twitter though not many give a damn for her. And the wanna-be Legend and Celebrity Mohan Babu did nothing except a guest appearance in Jhummandi Nadam.

the Akkineni Family..

2010 has been a good year for the Akkinenis too. Though Nagarjuna gave a dud with Kedi, this was immediately covered with the industy hit 'Yem Maya Chesave' by Naga Chaitanya which will remain as a classic along the lines of Devadas and Geetanjali. Nag's another son Akhil too attained celebrity status in Tollywood with his awesome performance in Tollywood T20. Nagarjuna made small guest appearance in Bhumika's Thakita Thalita and his Ragada is getting ready for release.

the Daggubati Family...

The most honoured family in Tollywood. More than the lust for money, it is the passion for cinema that drives these people ahead. It has been a considerably good year for the Daggubati's. Venkateshscored a decent hit with Namo Venkatesa and Rana made a mind blowing debut with Leadermovie. Rama Naidu won the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Award this year and Venkatesh'sNagavalli is gearing up for a release.
